I have noticed that most doctor’s waiting rooms have artwork on their walls.
They usually feature ‘safe’ subjects like oceans, landscapes, or baby animals wearing glasses and hats. One assumes doctors chose such images to foster a calmness in their patients, to get their minds off their private suffering.
Well, except for my doctor. She is apparently not a fan of such boring conventions and has opted for what I can only describe as a ‘different’ approach.
This is the illustration adorning her waiting room wall. I swear this is true.
Seriously!
I went in today and had to take a photo to show you guys. Now, unless I’m much mistaken, it’s a person clutching their stomach and vomiting profusely. Here’s a close up.
Wow. No beating around the bush here.
But I suppose it worked as I forgot MY ailments almost immediately.
Good thing your GP isn’t a surgeon. Imagine *that* artwork.
Yikes! Yes, the mind boggles.
I must admit, sitting in the waiting room I did think to myself, “at least I’m not that poor soul in the picture with the river of vomit coming out of him”.
Or a proctologist …
