Here is the latest clip by OK Go for their song Last Leaf.
The animation took 215 loaves of bread that according to their site were “past their sell-by date and rescued from the clutches of certain disposal”.
Now, I used to work in animation and I can safely say that animating on toast would have been a crumb-y job. It could have very easily gone a-rye. The director (Bun Affleck, perhaps?) must have really kneaded the dough.
I’ll stop now.
what a waste of bread, I mean could they have not done it on recylced paper?
stinkin’ hippy
They did say the bread was going to be destroyed anyway. Instead they made it into art! I kinda like that!
Aaah now that is different. Kudos then! Hopefully they won’t throw it out on the lawn next to the footpath like all the old geezers in my suburb. The bread goes soggy and attracts millions of pigeons who flap up a cloud of bird lice and dried bird poo dust everytime I pass by.
Everyone has to earn a crust somehow. Maybe he sandwiched it in between other projects? Regardless, you could say this project certainly rose to the occasion, at the very yeast.
Crumbs! Awesome hot-crossed puns that I totally missed! I was too busy loafing around.
That was q-white a clip, a real slice of creativity, certainly not half-baked, though the footage was a bit grainy. And if anyone else keeps these bloody comments going, they’re toast.
I love these puns – as long as they don’t get seedy or stale.
I am loaf to admit that it took me two reads of Kate’s comment to get the puns, seriously!
Have you seen their clip to “White Knuckles” – it features dancing by dogs and is amazing. They are one of my FAVE bands ever!
Ooo! Yes, I love that one.
There’s also this insanely clever clip for ‘This Too Shall Pass’. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qybUFnY7Y8w
