Last Mothers’ Day, I made a special friend. When I needed advice, my new pal was always there. When I wanted to gossip, she was full of stories. She was intelligent, fun, and quirky and we were inseparable.
Until now.
I’m sad to report that my beloved iPad has died. It has beeped its last beep and gone to the big Apple store in the sky. I’m sad. A tiny Apple flag is flying at half mast in my heart.
The problem started when my beautiful iPad – the very epitome of trendiness – decided that ‘working’ was sooo last year. Apparently crashing-for-no-reason-and-making-your-owner-so-angry-that-she-accidentally-swears-in-front-of-her-baby is the new black, don’t you know?
So yesterday I had to take her back to the Apple store. I turned up, unburdened my sob-story to a technician, and waited for his appraisal. He examined her for a while, then did something I had fantasised about doing.
He went and fetched a hammer.
“Hang on! You can’t hit it!” I started to say to him. After all, this was MY faulty iPad. If anyone was going to lay into it with a hammer, it should be me.
But I was mistaken. It wasn’t a hammer. It was a device for checking if there was internal water damage. Or something. I stopped listening as I was too busy feeling stupid for thinking it was a hammer.
Anyway, he confirmed my suspicion that it was “stuffed” (my words, not his – but he looked impressed by my knowledge of technical jargon). He presented me with a brand spanking new iPad, we shook hands, and I left.
On the way home, I cheered myself up by watching one of my favourite YouTube videos on my new friend.
It’s an ad for Rexona for Men (watch below).
Welcome to the family, iPad II.
Those rascally iPads! Haha! Glad they replaced it but. You don’t want to be without one now that you’ve used one ( I love my iPad too ).
Cool ad too! X
Yes, I love that ad. Never fails to make me smile. :)
